Torrea the Monarch of the Arid Waste

Torrea - The Storm's Fury
The youngest of the ancient dragons at 100 years old, Torrea was born almost 400 years AFTER the reckoning to Kezzerak The Lightning's Eye and Kiora The Azure Oasis. She grew up in a monarchical family where they were bred and raised to become the "perfect" ruler. Because of this idea being forced down her throat since she was old enough to comprehend language, and knowing that blue dragons have shorter life spans, she is scientifically driven to help her people live longer lives. With the longest living blue dragon recorded to be 377 years old, Torrea's goal is to find a way to have her people live longer, more fulfilling lives much like her monochromatic cousins. Torrea is one of 28 siblings, and the oldest of the group. Because of her age, she is first in line and thereby ruler of the blue dragons.
In Torrea's younger years, an alchemist named Horologus made his way to the waste. Rumor made its way to Kezzerak that this alchemist was preaching of knowing a way to reach immortality. This caught Kezzerak's attention, not having put much thought into his people's short lifespans. He swooped Horologus out of the streets and brought him into the palace demanding he teach his oldest child everything he new of alchemy and immortality. Torrea studied under Horologus for decades which infuriated her younger brother, Sereborne, the second in line for the throne. Being irate that he was not learning the secrets the way his older sister was, and noticing how close Torrea was becoming to Horologus, Sereborne started planting the seed within his father's mind that Torrea would not share the knowledge her teacher was giving her. Torrea would turn around and keep the secrets of immortality to herself.
On the eve of Torrea's 86th birthday, an assassination attempt was made on her life. Within the scramble, Horologus lost his life protecting Torrea. To this day, the details as to who the assassin was, or who he was hired by are still unknown. It was only a few years later that her father passed away at 324 years old, thrusting her onto the throne with only the words of her mother and a few siblings to help guide her in this new path.
Torrea as a leader has been pretty noticeable naive so far. She has altered the flow of taxes from the military to education and scientific research, angering her traditionalist generals and older members of their society. Rumor has is that this new science branch of her government is paying humanoids gold for being alchemic test subjects on life and longevity.
