Marcia's Miscellany
In the wilder days of Agrophon, Marcia Aufidia's band of adventurers stormed through undiscovered land, founding cities and claiming rewards along the way. They facilitated the expansion of Kudo along the east, and they contributed to the development of Haust and Ossifrey.
Many of their actions are criticized in the present day (most notably, they're banned from working in Carrithel), but they're generally considered heroes, especially in Kudo.
High Adventure
Most places in Agrophon are mundane and slow to change, but Marcia's Miscellany were quick to find the most fantastical and dangerous parts of the continent. They were some of the last people in Agrophon to have conversations as absurd as, "where should we teleport first?" or "which three of us should be immune to fire for this next task?" The extent of the Miscellany's adventures can be seen in their old documents, where they've drawn up tables to organize the many mystical elements at play in each conflict. Each table tends to have four columns: what tasks need to be done, what obstacles need to be countered, what information might expose them, and how they might respond. People across Agrophon love to review these tables, for all they reveal about the Miscellany's practices, priorities, and grand journeys. The modern Miscellany
Even half a millennium later, the crew still has its footprint on the world. In fact, Loch Floe-Bogghurst is still alive, despite the fact that nobody can come back to life if they're dead for a full century. This is because of a "resurrection pact," to which the Miscellany donated a massive sum of gold. The adventurers' friends and their descendants resurrect them every few decades, using a large supply of materials which still hasn't run out. This allowed them to come back over and over throughout history, spending their lives in whatever eras they want. Loch showed up in the autumn of 704, and Whorl Imetoctli spent a few years in the 5th century. The fate of the others is unknown.Disbandment
In their later years, several of the Miscellany went on to pursue other goals, tired or regretful of their adventuring days. The remaining members disbanded to operate on their own.
