Aelian

Aelian, known in eir childhood as Osvar, was a High Elven prodigy among the Auroral Chorus, a dynasty of civic planners and architects in the high years of the Regime. When Osvar was born, a seer made a prophecy that the child would lead the Chorus to new greatness and become the parent of paragons. It was in pursuit of this prophecy that the dynasty took up a posting to create a new city in the far north, in a deep bay in the western flank of Mount Aelian.
It was perhaps in response to the dynasty naming their city, the valley in which it was built, and just about everything else around the location after eir child name that Osvar chose at maturity to name emself after the mountain itself. Ee entered the sanctuary high on the mountain's slopes and joined the order of contemplatives. Ee excelled in eir studies, and not only became the Premier of the sanctuary, but led its members to new heights, first adopting roles in the civic management of Osvar, then remoulding the contemplative order into the first Order of Paragons, the warrior-mystics dedicated to defending the northern borders against the supposed Goblinoid hordes waiting in the bluffs.
As the Regime declined, Aelian - now at a venerable age - began accepting increasing numbers of humans and other races into the Sanctuary. The Auroral Chorus disowned their former golden child after ee took first a human wife, and then a number of human and half-elven consorts, but it was the Chorus that failed along with the Regime, and the paragons who thrived. As other paragon orders emerged, Aelian renamed eir followers the Aelianov Dynasty, after the Sanctuary more than emself. At a ripe old age - some say three hundred and nine, others more than five centuries - Aelian retreated to the sky platforms above the santuary and lapsed into a final trance.
