Genasi

1st of Sun's Swell, AE 721
In the Ayadane Pantheon, there are no deities to which any extant races traces their creation myths, except for one: Avari. In the early years of the Ayadane Era, he saw many races continuing to pay tribute to long dead deities, saw how they were celebrated, and longed for the same, and what Avari wants, he gets.   And so he would make his own people, formed from the very storms he ruled over. From roaring ocean waves, the water genasi. From raging winds, the air genasi. When lightning struck sand and formed fulgurites, the earth genasi. When lightning struck dry plains and ignited, the fire genasi. It's said that he cared for the original four babies himself.   Nowadays, some genasi are biological descendants of those original four, but there are still many made by Avari directly. The locations in which the babies are formed are consistent, and so they are closely guarded and observed 'round the clock, especially when the weather grows stormy.

Naming Traditions

Genasi follow typical Avarin naming traditions, but with the addition of a numerical name, indicating the number of generations removed from their most recent ancestor created directly by Avari. The names always include a numerical root (mono, di, tri, tetra, penta, etc.), but are often stylized (Pentalius, Hexanna, Octavius, etc.). These names are typically only used in formal settings or paperwork, and they are listed before the given name.
