AZUTH

God of Wizards

Forgotten Realms DnD Beyond
Description: Azuth (pronounced:ah-ZOOTH) was a god of arcane magic whose concerns included the perpetuation of the magical arts as a craft. The Lord of Spells often appeared as an elderly man with a long, white beard garbed in antique clothes and wielding a gem-topped staff. He was worshiped by all manner of arcane spellcasters, earning particular veneration with wizards.   Personality: Azuth often comes across as crotchety and cantankerous, even to other gods and is somewhat misunderstood. His dry wit and unending devotion to the pursuit of the arcane rubs others the wrong way.   Following: The church of Azuth was widely viewed as archaic in their tradition, pedantic in their debates, and oblivious to the real-world problems within the Realms. They often possessed a moral neutrality that garnered an unfavorable opinion by the average layperson.
