Donarian mountains

A young mountain range inhabited by farmers and hunters. It is a place of peace except for one location. There is one city named Haernos. It is inhabited by creatures called the dragonborn who appear like a humanoid dragon and who are said to be the children of the dragon gods of this realm. Many years ago, the inhabitants of this city and other cities would hold creatures called tieflings as slaves. These tieflings look human in most regards, except for their lizard like tail and two horns on their head. One day the tieflings started a revolution, which spread across the lands. This marked the start of the tiefling empire Tieferra and gave the Haernos the nickname ''City of revolt'' These days, the citizens of Haernos use their knowledge of battle, passed on by their ancestors, to train new soldiers and develop new weapons.

Geography

The mountain range where Haernos is located, refered to as the Donarian mountains, is a range of snowy peaks and grassy valleys. Many rivers find their source in these mountains. It is a place of beauty. All except for one mountain, the mountain of Haernos. It has been stripped bare due to the collatoral damage of many sieges on the city. The surface of the mountain has been stained by death and some nights, when the sun sets just right, you can see the ghosts of the battlefield still haunting the place of their untimely demise. Haernos is not located near any river either, due to it having to be hard to acces by the enemy during war time. Since then, a canal has been dug to supply the city with water. Below the mountains can be found large cave systems created by both friend and foe to attempt sneak attacks during the war.

Fauna & Flora

The snowy peaks are inhabited a few creatures who can stand the cold. Thick furred rabbits feed on small patches of moss that grow beneath the snow. The rabbits are hunted by white foxes. Some birds will perch on rocky outcrops, away from the predators of the valley. Down in the valley, grass lies across the land broken only by the blue flow of a river. Goats, sheep and cows can be found grazing the grasslands whilst horses will be seen galloping with the flow of the river. Several caves are home to cave bears who feed on the fish in the river and berries and fruits found on plants. Most valleys in the mountain range are home to at least one pack of wolves. Mice and rats can be found scavenging for food in farms and fields. Rock outcroppings and small caves on the sides of the mountains are home to many types of birds who will hunt for mice and other small creatures both in the valleys and the higher laying areas.

Natural Resources

The valleys in the Donarian mountains are fertile and the rivers make it arable. Because of this it is often used for farming crops or herding cattle by humans. The dragonborn in Haernos on the other hand, are more interested in the natural resources that can be found in the caves. The earth is rich in iron which is used in dragonborn weapons. The caves also lead to a deeper part of the planet where mysterious ''elemental stones'' can be mined. These stones are used to infuse weapons with the power of elements like fire, electricity or acid to empower their weapons.
