Korrus 4

Descending into Korrus 4 feels like entering a realm forged in fire and steel. The air is thick with the scent of burning coal and molten metal, and the clang of hammers against anvils echoes off the stone walls. Dwarven banners hang proudly from every doorway, marking the territory of the Foundry—a stronghold of craftsfolk and engineers. In the dim glow of forges, dwarves, and their kin toil day and night, turning raw materials into marvels of machinery. Here, the spirit of innovation thrives, fueled by the strength and determination of the city's industrious core.

The Foundry

A fortified dwarven stronghold that acts as the central hub of dwarven influence in Mienica. It houses the Ironspoke’s leadership and serves as both a guildhall and a meeting place for community matters. The Foundry also offers its services to other floors, particularly for structural repairs and metalwork.   The Emberforge District A series of workshops and forges where skilled blacksmiths, metalworkers, and artisans create everything from weapons to decorative metal pieces. The district is constantly busy, with the sounds of hammers and forges filling the air.

Districts

The Emberhold

Nestled near waterfalls on the west of Korrus 4, the Emberhold is an affluent dwarven district with sturdy stone homes lined with intricate carvings and mosaics depicting scenes of old battles and legends. Here, master blacksmiths and high-ranking members of the Foundry live and work, crafting everything from weapons to ornamental metalworks. The Emberhold is known for its grand, arched corridors and ornate gates that signify status and craft excellence. The air is always warm here, and the walls vibrate slightly from the constant forging happening within private workshops. It's a prestigious area, where apprentices hope to someday find a mentor among the master crafters.

The Stoneweave District

Dug deep into the rock, this neighborhood is a series of interconnected tunnels and chambers lit by phosphorescent fungi and glowing crystals set into the walls. It's inhabited by a mix of races, including tieflings, humans, and dwarves, who often work as tailors, weavers, and fabric merchants. Despite being underground, the district has a surprisingly vibrant textile market, fed by imported goods from Sezani and beyond. The district’s name comes from the unique technique of interweaving metal threads into fabrics, a practice that originated here.

The Rustyard

Just north of The Emberhold, in the spray of the waterfalls, The Rustyard is one of the most eclectic areas of Korrus 4. It’s a sprawling labyrinth of makeshift homes and workshops where scavengers, inventors, and tinkerers reside. Built into the recesses of the rock, this district is known for being a hub of innovation, albeit with a chaotic and disorganized flair. It is home to many failed experiments, prototypes, and off-the-wall inventions. The community is surprisingly welcoming, with residents quick to share their latest gadgets or collaborate on new projects.   The Hollow Hearth The Hollow Hearth is a quieter, more residential part of Korrus 4, often home to the families of forge workers and laborers. Here, the sound of hammers is more muted, and children play in the shadowed streets while their parents work. The buildings are sturdy, made from salvaged stone and metal, with deep-set windows to block the noise from busier areas. Communal ovens and fire pits give the district a close-knit feel, as families often gather for shared meals. It’s a neighborhood marked by modest but comfortable living, where the warmth of community sustains its people.
