Kirin, the First Kenku
The first kenku and Goddess of said kenkus, Kirin was cursed by Pateras, shorting after creation, for attempting to steal his Flame of Creation. This curse caused Kirin, and all people of his kind, to be unable to speak, and forced to mimic the speech of others to communicate. Using his abilities of mimicry, Kirin became the messenger of the gods, sending messages between the two pantheons. Kirin is part of the Pantheon of the Chthonic, as he has a close relationship with Avalore, the Goddess of Death, and she had decided to take him under her wing, after his treatment by her father. At times, Kirin, as a favour to Avalore, sends messages from the dead to the living, or can sometimes guide the souls of the dead to the afterlife, if Avalore is otherwise occupied.
