Shan-tari

Built into a rocky valley, the Oshal capital of Shan-tari has its building carved into stone, forming surprisingly refined buildings out of the valley. Much of the city itself is shielded by the harsh sun that constantly beams upon the dunes of the desert, leaving it much cooler than on top of the valley itself. The buildings do not have traditional doors, instead consisting of many openings in each of the building in which the serpent like yuan ti can easily enter and exit. The heights of the tallest buildings are stunted but the height of the valley walls, yet many buildings are extended underground, creating a complicated tunnel system connecting each of the buildings. In truth, much of the city is actually underground, with the buildings carved from the valley being more so lookouts to protect the yuan ti from possible threats that may stumble across the city.
