The Godless Plague

The Godless Plague, also known as the Scion of Enderfall, was a disease that spread across The Continent back in 2084BDE, at the beginning of the Age of Exodus, when Nalista first appeared. It is said that her presence was sickening to mortals, and caused the spread of the Plague, with those of non-mortal blood being the only ones entirely immune to it. There is a problem with these statements; however, in that the Plague spread nearly two and a half millennia and very little documentation of it has survived to this day, making exact details very difficult to come across. Many historians argue that it is a Plague passed from those that are of divine blood to mortals, who simply cannot survive constant exposure to divinity, as the Age of Exodus was an age in which mortals often interacted with demi-gods. Some argue that the dragons of Dranocast's constant interaction with their ruler, Lord Urill-ith, is a contradiction to this while others contest that dragons can hardly be called mortals.

Causes

None are quite sure, come say it comes from Nalista, and her invasion of The Continent while others argue that it comes from exposure to demi-gods, as it died down after many of the demi-gods were killed. This also lends credence to the former theory, as Nalista was responsible for the death of many demi-gods, due to her collisions with The Obsidian Council.

Symptoms

There is but one, simple symptom of the Godless Plague. Necrosis. The body will begin to kill itself, your flesh beginning to rot away, beginning from the limbs and working its way to the heart. The flesh itself begins to go black, smelling like rotting flesh, and the infected victim will simply feel sapped of energy, slowly wasting away.

Treatment

The only known treatments were either using the druidic arts to regenerate dying tissue, and beg that it would be enough to outpace the necrosis or simply cutting off the limbs affected by The Plague, preventing its approach to the heart. Many rarely survivor this; however, as the lack of energy and general good health from The Godless Plague is often enough to have someone close to death in and of itself.
