The Ignari

The Ignari, known as the Daemon Cursed, are those that have a mutation, causing demonic features, such as long, curled horns and more monstrous, physical forms. Although many would think that they would be easily mistaken for tieflings, the Ignari are far different, with any race, save the tieflings, who already have infernal heritage, making them immune to the mutation, or the warforged, who are inorganic, and thus immune to the mutation, being susceptible to becoming Ignari.   Ignari are not born into their appearance, instead appearing relatively normal until they reach their later years. While many would eventually grow elderly, the Ignari live longer than others, causing the horns to sprout and greater deformations to occurs when their lives should end. It is theorised that the Ignari mutation feeds off the dying life force of the person with it, causing them to eventually become entirely demonic. Some times, through very unique circumstances, Ignari mutations can flair earlier, causing greater issuers.   A cure is not known off in the world, so those who are afflicted are sent to The Nichteil, where they live out the remainder of their days away from others.
