The Infernal Wretches of the Abyss

The book itself is strange, with a plain red leather cover, along with the text for the title of the book, written in infernal underneath. On the bottom of the spine is a symbol of a demonic, gorilla like head made with thin silver. The very first page documents what the book is about, listing the many different types of demons, as well as how dangerous they are, and how you should deal with them. The very first chapter of the book is simply titled as the 'Supposed Origin of the Demons of the Abyss'. At the very bottom of this page, you see, written in rather small text in comparison to the rest of the first page: 'Contributes Include: Dalian Kast, Serozen Norin, Lyndera Ienn, Caius Vendel'.

The Infernal Wretches of the Abyss

Supposed Origin of the Demons of the Abyss: According to the book, it is theorised that demons come from the souls of mortals who are unable to enter Elysium, the ideal realm for the afterlife. Typically, souls that do not make it in to Elysium continue to fall, until they reach the Banished Vale of the Underworld, where they are then consumed by Ornathon, God of the End. Those who do not wish to be consumed at the lowest levels of the Underworld, in turn, make deals with devils, exchanging their freedom so that they can still exist in the world. This turns them into demons and, depending on the deal made, as well as the devil the deal is made with, he mortal can take a differing demonic form.
