Caius Vendel
The Last Son of the Wolf
Given the title of master by Calder Echarlion, Caius is a member of The Bloodhunter Guild of the Werewolf, and, quite possibly the last bloodhunter. At the very least, Caius is the last known bloodunter, and is the last to be granted the title of master before The Bloodhunter Purge. In and out of contact with the newly formed country of Knaeva, due to his kinship with Calder Echarlion and Bethany Echarlion Beaufort, Caius now takes jobs along The Ithryl Woods, Knaeva and Alderhardt, slaying creatures that have became more rampant, due to fewer patrols as a consequence of the war.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Caius may be not be tall for a human, but he is well built, giving the impression that he is far stronger than the average person. His dark brown hair is swept back and his crimson eyes almost glow as he looks forward. A scar stretches across his face from the left of his forehead to his right cheek. He wears a leather jacket, with parts of steel plate placed over sections of said jacket. Over his shoulders, Caius wears a part of an owlbear's pelt, with his Werewolf amulet being shown proudly.
In his lycan form, Caius becomes a black furred werewolf, still maintaining the glowing red eyes of Bloodhunters. He grows in size, becoming well over 6ft in height, and becoming much larger in frame, though not quite as large as a typical werewolf, due to the lycan form being a hybrid one, rather than a full transformation.

Personal history
Who Caius was born to, as well as his lineage, has always been a mystery to him, due to him being saved as a baby and taken to Fort Stouthardt by Forniron, the former Grand Master of the Guild of the Werewolf. He spent his entire life training to be a bloodhunter, until, at the age of 16, he underwent the ritual and became one. He took many jobs in the next 3 years, eventually befriending the bard, Asha Vendel, taking her last name as his reward for the job of killing the men who murdered her parents and burned down her home.
Caius then returned for a few years, living as normal a life as a bloodhunter could. After this time, Caius left on a job that went sideways, in the most dramatic way possible. He eventually joined an adventuring party, and was tasked with hunting down and defeating a devil, along with his cult, due to the sideways job. He fell for the party's leader, Ayame Taru, developing quite the romance with The Nashuto descendent.
During this time, Caius' home was destroyed, and much of his guild killed was because of the Bloodhunter Purge. After destroying the cult of Lilith, Lady of Treachery, Caius returned home, learning of the purge, as well as all of the friends that he had lost. With Calder, the legendary bloodhunter, being the only other survivor, Caius naturally assumed that he would take over as grand master, but Calder had cured himself of his bloodhunter abilities, taking his ward, Beth, and became a commander of Knaeva.
Caius took this as a sign that, because of the prejudice bloodhunters suffered, there should be no other hunters after him, as he did not want others to feel the pain of loss that he had felt. He also felt that ridding yourself of the bloodhunter abilities was the only way for one to be happy, but Caius had no idea how to live a life of someone without those abilities or the job of hunting monsters. Because of this, Caius secludes himself in the ruins of Stouthardt, vowing to be the last of his kind...
