The Sentinels of Afrid

Powerful celestial beings of near god-like power, The Sentinels of Afrid, not to be confused with The Sentinels of Knaeva, are warrior servants that work directly under the Afrid, the Goddess of Life, often acting on her behalf when communications with mortals are required, or the preservation of life requires the work of powerful warriors and possible violence.
Although Afrid herself has a plethora of celestial beings at her beck and call, it is the Sentinels that are the most feared, as well as the most respected, and are most likely the most powerful of the bunch. An example of a Sentinel's strength, which is more so an inflated one, is the fact that Asmodeus, the Lord of the Nine Realms of Hell, was once one himself, before falling from Afrid's grace.
Before The Divine Exodus , Sentinels were a fairly common sight in all of Aither; however, the outlawing of direct divine presence in the world made it difficult for many to make it to the world's surface, given that their power was not far from some of the Lesser Gods, and could easily be mistaken for a God. This has caused many Sentinels, who are displeased with this turn of events, to turn to shedding much of their celestial power in favour of being able to aid the mortals of Aither much to the dismay of their leader.
