The Shadow Claws of Azhak

Despite the relatively docile nature of many tabaxis in the city of Azhark, they are home to one of the greatest assassin organisations in The Continent, rivalling The Azure Owls in that regard. Unlike the Owls, who use assassins to ensure the information they have stays with them and the person/ people who told them, The Shadow Claws are an organisation of hired assassins, with many spending money to see others dead. Their presence, because of this, makes them illegal in most places, except from their home city; however, by the you know they are in your home town they would have already completed their mission, leaving in the cover of the night.   What makes the Shadow Claws a feared force, other than their skill, is the lack of individuality in their assassins, leading to a lot of both morality and humanity. Each of their assassins has their fur burned and blackened, causing them to blend into the dark. Each is issued with the same equipment, undergoes the same training, wields the same weapons, the signature rope dart, and each has their claws laced in poison. Each also has their tongue cut out, meaning that they cannot give up information if captured, and each changes their name to Shadow Claw, making them all the same.   Because of their inability to talk, brokers are often contacted to issue a hit on a target. They are not technically part of the Shadow Claws, but are paid a certain percentage of the money made on an assassination. The rest of the money goes to the organisation as a whole, which actually aids in Azhak's economy. The Shadow Claws are more than just an assassin organisation for the tabaxi, which is why they have been so difficult to remove. They are part of their culture, being on of the Primal Tribes of the catfolk.
