Azar

Azar is the goddess of fire and the element itself, as well as magic itself. She is daughter of Ahura Mazda and consort of Asha Vahishta, , Truth. She is depicted as a golden body surrounded by a fiery aura. The sacred fire in the fire temple is considered the presence of Azar herself, and considered by mobads and magi alike to be the source of magical power.
Sacrifices of meat are made to Azar, given by supplicants while they hold the barsom twigs in their hand, a certain number required for specific rituals. The barsom twigs represent the element earth and honor the Creator.
