Tyr

Tyr is the god of rains and of storms. He is the consort of Haoma, goddess of harvest. He is depicted as an electric horse galloping out of the sea with lighting emerging from his hoofprints who races across the sky and dives to earth, even under the sea, to do battle against the evil pari Duzhyairya (symbolizing bad harvest), and the daeva Apaosha (drought). He is often represented as rising from the Vourukasha Sea, the source of all waters, rising into the air to find and do battle with his enemies.
Tyr is worshipped by sailors and farmers alike. His strength is dependent on the proper worship given by the people. He demands obedience and if people do not perform the correct rites with the appropriate spirit, it is said that his power will weaken the forces of darkness would prevail, and drought and bad harvest would follow. He is often worshipped alongside Haoma and the other Beneficial Immortals in small acts of faith to help bring good harvest.
Tyr is celebrated especially during the early summer festival of Tirgan in order to bring good rains to ensure a bountiful harvest.
He is also feared and respected for his power, and ritual is often made where his wrath is feared as the storms he brings are known to bring devastation. Secret sacrifices are said to be made by some, like the Anchorites of Tyr, in order to stoke his stormy power in an attempt to wield it against the civilizing kingdoms of the land, leading to his worship being controversial in certain times and places, like in his namesake city of Tyre.
