Queendom of Bratha
The Kingdom of Bratha is relatively new in the span of the world, having been founded only 100 years ago. Founded by Queen Tilaine Bratha, the Queendom seperated from the Melyria Empire. Now the Queendom is ruled by Queen Marai.
The Legacy of Tilaine
Once Queen Tilaine founded her Queendom she decided to make her rule matriarchial. After suffering under the oppressive patriarchy of the The Melyrian Empire she wanted a complete speration from their rules and customs. Now, 100 years later, the Queendom is a place of acceptance for any race, gender or sexuality. Bratha has managed to complete remove itself from the patriarchal influence it emerged from.The Current Queendom
Nestled at the northern most point of the continent, Bratha has seen some struggles. Their generally cold climate doesn't lend itself well to production and so they rely on imports from their friendlier neighboors, the The Laedian Dynasty. Relations with the Melyrian Empire never recovered from the war and tensions are constantly high between the two political powers. The Queendom also recently faced tragedy in the death of it's Queen and the heir. Queen Marai, despite not being trained in the duties of the has now taken on the role. She is mostly untested but the queendom is currently thriving inder her leadership with the help of the Noble Council.The Noble Council of Bratha

Structure
Bratha is run by the royal family, in a matriarchal line. Below the royal family is a council of nobles that are elected as advisors to the royal family. While the Queen has the final say and veto in all matters, most things are handled by the elected council to ensure fairness.
Culture
The core belief that founed Bratha was that it was to remain fair to all. Despite the matriarchal family line of the royalty, the rest of the kingdom follows a "firstborn" inheritance system regardless of gender. Bratha remains matriarchal through the royal family only to prevent a reoccurance of the patriarchy in the Melyrian Empire.
Demography and Population
The Population is made up of a mix of various races. The Safe Haven laws of Bratha allow any to settle within the Queendom to escape persecution in their home kingdom. The Queendom has a rising population both from an influx of refugees as well as a rising birth rate. Given the mixed racial population of the Queendom, the death rate fluctuates wildly from year to year, though is almost always lower than the birth rate.

All citizens of Bratha are educated in public schools, with some noble families also hiring tutors.
