Borallis

Boralia is one of the four Spice Cities that are constructed along the Spice Corridor. Despite the fact they are called Boralia, most people just refer to it as Borallis since it's the name of their only city. Borallis plays a special role among its neighboring cities. All the spice that flows to the markets beyond must first be weighed, measured, and graded at the vendors in Borallis. In turn Borallis provides a stamp that has a magic element. This stamp has become a gold standard among merchants, and few people will consider buying spices that aren't marked. Being marked promises a certain level of quality that is reflected in the marks.

Mark System

The mark system is structured like 4S2. The first number indicates the rarity of the spice contained within. The S stands for spice. The final number stands for the quantity of spice. The scales of each number are 1 - 5. Generally the higher the first number is, the lower the second will be.

Obsidian Bank

Borallis is also home to The Obsidian Bank. The bank is an extremely influential entity within the international theatre. Its relevance lends extreme political weight to the city. Millions of gold pass through the city daily as the massive ports harbor ships and gold flows to and from the bank.

Spice King

Borallis is overseen by a Spice King who is elected for life by a council of merchants. The current Spice King is Darian Xoansok.
