Great Halls of Edral
The common homes for the Great families of the Kingdom of Edral. All od whom are Albenis and thus their religion and deep roots in magic and love of beauty have shaped what their homes are like.
Purpose / Function
They are a place for the great families of the kingdom to live, meet, and display their great wealth.
Alterations
These houses are very old as and such most have had many alterations throughout the years. The first alterations that come to these homes are usually more towers as the family get larger.
Architecture
Most of these types of homes are built deep in the woods and incorporate the trees and landscape into their architecture. Made of almost sole wood, one the outside the building blends into the forest. On the inside stone or marble is sometimes used in flooring though a lot of times it is still just different kinds of woods.
Common Features
Center Room - Often times the center of the home is build around a tree. A large room will be constructed here in which there will be no ceiling, and is mostly used for gathering. Tower - Towers built on the edge sides of the house made to mimic the trees of the forest around. They are as tall as the trees and usually act as bedrooms for individuals in the family. their are usually 7-10 such buildings on a home. Parlor - A room constructed on the first floor of the building, it is usually built around a stage where the head of the household sits when their is command.
