High Reliquist Kentigern

"Wisdom is not merely the pursuit of knowledge, but the recognition that that pursuit will be an endless one."   —Wisdom of Saint Albus
Of all the sages and scholars in Albion, few are more eminent and respected than Kentigern, High Reliquist of the great abbey at Winterforth. In his career as a scribe, Saintspriest, and herbalist, he has led advancements in medicine, astronomy, and theology, among other fields. Born in the southlands during the dark days before their unification under Othric Whiteblade, Kentigern found his calling early in life when the blessing of the saints saved him from a raid. Seeking to better understand the gifts he had been given, Kentigern followed his faith all the way to the fabled continental city of Remistrum, once the capitol of the Doric Empire. Studying under the clerics of the Exalted Saints and perusing the ancient libraries of the Athenaeum Ecclesium, he soon earned the respect of his peers and the robes of a reliquist. Returning to Albion, he devoted himself to making peace in his homeland, and quickly earning a reputation as a kind-hearted and beneficent spiritual leader. Soon, respect for his wisdom became the middle ground from which alliances were brokered, and it was his endorsement and patronage of Othric that allowed the young king to command the allegiances of the petty kings and unite them under the banner of Brythonkeld. Now wizened and aging, Kentigern still travels frequently from his abbey at Winterforth, seeking to fulfill his someday dream of seeing all the lands of Albion united...
