Spellcasting. Kain is a 13th level spellcaster. His spellcasting modifier is Intelligence (DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks) and he has the following wizard spells prepared:
- Cantrips (at will): booming blade, dancing lights, fire bolt, frostbite, green-flame blade, light, lightning lure, ray of frost, shocking grasp, thunderclap.
- 1st-level (4 slots): burning hands, chromatic orb, earth tremor, frost fingers, jim's magic missile, magic missile, tasha's caustic brew, thunderwave, witch bolt.

Master of Evocation. Kain has advantage on any ability checks related to the evocation school of magic, and also on saving throws against spells from the evoker school of magic.
Actions
Multiattack. Kain makes three Arcane Burst attacks. Arcane Burst. Melee or Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 2D10+4 force damage. Sculpted Explosion (Recharge 4–6). Kain unleashes a magical explosion of a particular damage type: cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. The magic erupts in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point within 150 feet of Kain. Each creature in that area must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw. Kain can select up to four creatures it can see in the area to ignore the spell, as he sculpts the spell's energy around them. On a failed save, a creature takes 9D8 damage of the chosen type and is knocked prone. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and isn't knocked prone.
