Description

Ioun is the goddess of knowledge, skill, and prophecy. She is revered by sages and seers, but also by tacticians and those who live by their knowledge and mental power. Magic encompasses much of her domain, tying her closely to The Arch Heart, but while Corellon is the patron of arcane magic, Ioun is the patron its its study. Libraires are build in her name as well as school and places of arcane study.
Following her tenets, Ioun wishes her followers to pursue personal enlightenment and academic prowess. She promotes openness and communication between all knowledgeable people for the betterment all over the personal gain of the individual. To that end, she actively opposes Vecna, The Whispered One, who exists as the anthesis to her desires, asking his followers to covet secrets and exploit other with them.

Tenets of The Knowing Mistress

• Seek the perfection of your mind by bringing reason, perception, and emotion into balance with one another.
• Accumulate, preserve, and distribute knowledge in all forms. Pursue education, build libraries, and seek out lost and ancient lore.
• Be watchful at all times for the followers of Vecna, who seek to control knowledge and keep secrets. Oppose their schemes, unmask their secrets, and blind them with the light of truth and reason.

Piety 3+ Ioun trait
You gain the ability to cast Identify with this trait, requiring no material components. Iouns' blessing manifests as an arcane eye on your forehead until the spell ends. You may cast this spell in this way a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.

Ioun's Votary

Piety 10+ Ioun trait
You gain the ability to cast Borrowed Knowledge with this trait, requiring no material components. When you do, Ioun's power manifests by causing your eyes to glow until the spell ends. Once you cast this spell in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this spell. In addition, you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed.

Ioun's blessing further shields you mind from unbalancing forces. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened and you have resistance to psychic damage.

You can increase your Intelligence or Wisdom score by 2 and also increase your maximum for that score by 2.

The Prime Millenia

During Albion's formative years, when intelligent life began to prosper across it, Ioun was one of the first creator gods to lend her guidance to the people. She lead them, like a mother does with young children, to discover and understand the world around them and to share what they learned with one another, allowing civilisation to proper.

The Post-Aspect Era (The Era of Restoration)

When The Aspect Wars came to an end, Ioun and her followers prioritised seeking out the knowledge which was lost by the many civilisations which fell during those one hundred years in an attempt to make t accessible to those who survive. This lost knowledge has proven to be contextual to the area of the world her followers find themselves. In Concordia for example, with the events of The Confluence occurring so quickly after The Aspect Wars, she and her follower look to collect knowledge about Albion and the country's past within it so that one day they might be ready to reintroduce the country to the wider world.
