Spellcasting. Xelbuk is a 13th level spellcaster. His spellcasting modifier is Intelligence (DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks) and he has the following wizard spells prepared:

  • Cantrips (at will): chill touch, toll the dead.
  • 1st-level (4 slots): cause fear, false life, ray of sickness.
  • 2nd-level (3 slots): blindness/deafness, gentle repose, ray of enfeeblement, wither and bloom.
  • 3rd-level (3 slots): animate dead, bestow curse, feign death, life transference, speak with dead, spirit shroud, summon undead, vampiric touch.
  • 4th-level (3 slots): blight.
  • 5th-level (2 slots): danse macabre, enervation, negative energy flood.
  • 6th-level (1 slots): circle of death, create undead, eyebite, magic jar, soul cage.
  • 7th-level (1 slots): finger of death, tether essence.


Hold Breath. Xelbuk can hold his breath for up to 1 hour at a time.   Master of Necromancy. Xelbuk has advantage on any ability checks related to the necromancy school of magic, and also on saving throws against spells from the necromancy school of magic.

Actions

Multiattack. Xelbuk makes three Arcane Burst attacks.   Arcane Burst. Melee or Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 2D10+4 necrotic damage.   Shell Defense. Xelbuk withdraws into his shell. Until he emerges, Xelbuk gains a +4 bonus to AC and has advantage on Strength and Constitution saving throws. While in his shell, Xelbuk is prone, his speed is 0 and can't increase, he has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws, he can't take reactions, and the only action he can take is a bonus action to emerge.     BONUS ACTIONS   Summon Undead (1/Day). Xelbuk magically summons five skeletons or zombies. The summoned creatures appear in unoccupied spaces within 60 feet of Xelbuk , whom they obey. They take their turns immediately after Xelbuk's. Each lasts for 1 hour, until it or Xelbuk dies, or until he dismisses it as a bonus action.

Reactions

Grim Harvest (1/Turn). When Xelbuk kills a creature with necrotic damage, he regains 2D8 hit points.
