Rising Dragons

Members of the Rising Dragon of the Everbright Star are priests who are dedicated to promoting truth and fairness in the world. Priest of the Rising Dragon are defenders of the downtrodden, social activists speaking on the part of those unheard by the bureaucracies of the world. They seek out injustices and seek to right the wrongs of the world despite the size or significance of the problem. These Priests also believe in the ‘mystical’ elements of the universe; they are quite ready to take tall tales or grand stories as fact and are quick to act on the ‘lessons’ imparted by these ‘myths.’ The most notable of these stories is that of the Grand Dragon of Gold that heralds the end of the known world and brings forth a new era under the direct dominion of Palanos.

While many see these priests as pious and beloved figures, they often come into conflict with others because they are so un-accepting of compromise as a solution to the conflicts they deal with and because of the unintended arrogance that comes with their solid belief in their cause.

It has been long believed that it was Saint Tergodo that caused strife within the congregation of the original prophets. Tergodo refused to accept that the principles of Vingaar, especially those of Baatu, held any merit and he actively sought to ostracize those who, even slightly, legitimized or gave honor to their beliefs. As the Order has developed over the years, they are still unflinching in their resolve to work as a force for good but they, begrudgingly, recognized the need for alliances to move forward their idyllic agenda.

Many young priests of the Order seek out teachers of Gui Long (Dragon Spirit Kung Fu) to further enhance their fighting skills and to steel their faith through a baptism of rigorous training. These monks are highly regarded by others of the order. A select few of these monks will abandon the cloth to become Kensai and are just short of living Saints.
