Areian Mail
Elven Chain
Areian mail, or more commonly elven chain, is a lightweight armor of tiny interlocking metal rings created by the Elf. Once common and worn by all elves, in the modern day the artform of creating such a masterpiece is largely lost. Finding a craftsman is a quest inof itself, and a master will rarely create armor for any other than elf. Some Human royal families were gifted suits in the past. Suits that are now passed down through the generations.
This armor offers improved protection over normal mail armor and is thin and light enough to be worn under garments unnoticed. Its tiny rings are crafted to reduce sound as they rub together, especially muffled by outerlayers of clothing.
Game Notes: Areian Mail adds is AC 17 when worn alone and gives advantage to stealth roles. When worn under other light armor such as leather add +1 bonus to AC. Under medium or heavy armor no bonus is given. Areian mail is considered light armor.
