The Battle of Tomaton, in 6880sc, was the final battle between the forces of Toemanshire and the Orc tribes that had invaded the kingdom. The battle saw the orc army, aided by Juhl'are (dark elf) mercenaries and a young red Dragon, lay siege and assault the city of Tomaton. The battle was a pyrrhic victory for the Toemanshire army. Though the orc and their allies were defeated, King Wilhelm Alyster died slaying the dragon, and much of the Toemanshire army fell.

In the aftermath of the battle Lord General Carab, leader of the armed forces, claimed the kingship over Toemanshire. A move that was supported by the surviving army and solidified by a vote of the high nobles of the land.
