Craddle Grass

Papyrus

Craddle grass is a species of aquatic flowering plant, commonly called papyrus. Originally native to Buranuna River and Lake Sumer of the Craddle Valley, the Craddle grass has been cultivated through the ages, spreading to warm weather riverlands across northern Anbar and Novyum. The reeds of this grass-like plant can grow up to 16 feet high.

The Siduumites used papyrus for various purposes such as basket making, sandals and blankets, even boats. They would make use of ever part of the plant, including its roots, which they would make into eating utensils and bowls.

Of course, the most famous use of papyrus is making sheets of material similar to paper. Papyrus has been used since the beginning of the written word, and are still in use today, albeit much less since the invention of paper. Papyrus pages is still the preferred material for many magic-users spell books. It is the common understanding that the papyrus can hone innate Magic qualities that other 'processed' writing materials lack.
