Magas Flats
the Mirrored Sea
Magas Flats is a desert flatland southwest of Craddle Valley in Anbar on the major continent of Ethae. The region is covered in salf flats, often with shallow pools of saturated salt water. After a night rain the entire region is covered in rainwaters that cannot absorb into the ground. The water sits in a thin layer waiting to be evaporated by the sun. Still as if frozen this water layer mirrors the sky, giving Magas Flats is name as the Mirrored Sea.
The bed of an unrecorded sea from before history, no life grows on the Flats. The water is undrinkable and the layers of crusted salt thick on the desert floor. It is a land avoided by most creatures.
Magas Flats does have benefits, however. The Orc of Kal Kissuti controls the land and harvest the endless supply of salt to trade with the world beyond. As deadly as the land is, the orc patrol it and its priceless resource as if it were layers of gold on the ground.
