Merock

Castle Keph

Carved from the tip of a subpeak of Mount Bifor, the rock-hewn fortress of Merock stood as the impenetrable fortress capital of the Kephic Empire through nearly all its history. With the decline of the Empire in the modern ages Merock largely stands empty. A relic of the ancient past that bards use to weave fanciful tales of mythical places. In the modern-day, Dwarf pilgrims still travel to the site to honor the past by maintaining the empty citadel. Their hopes are that the old capital will come into use again as their people rise once more. As the old dwarven proverb says, 'the lights of Merock is seen across the Cutting Cutting Mountains to the end of days'.
