Brunhilda Sophie-Tahra Orestryke (a.k.a. Hilda, Hilda the Hammer)

Brunhilda Orestryke is the Matriarch of House Orestryke and a powerful political figure in the Kingdom of Thor Bardam, holding the office of Oremaster in the King's Council of Masters. She is also the primary representative of the Delver's Union for working conditions and treatment of the mining facilities. An ex-paladin to the Mordinsamman who rose to prominence during an attempted Underdark siege, Brunhilda has the vast experience of mining, fighting, and politicking that has molded her into a reckoning force.

Personal history

• Rise to Prominence & Invasion: Brunhilda first gained attention when she was working primarily as a Delver's Union Representative and a miner, a fiery debater who took no nonsense or insult from anyone and always looked to keep her people safe, protected, and provided for. However, during one of her routine mining inspections, an Underdark squadron of Derro and led by a Duergar commander burst through one of the cavern veins and began slaughtering and destroying all they could with in the mine. Quarters were set ablaze, miners were killed or dragged back into the dark, and the cavern entrance was collapsed by the cowardly Olfric Coppercoat, willing to sacrifice the miners to keep the Derro from getting any further and stealing or destroying their items, gold, and gods-forbid the kingdom. However, Brunhilda rallied the miners together to fight back against the Derro using ingenuity, guerilla warfare, and their better knowledge of the miner's layout. With her leadership, the patchwork squad of survivors took the mine back and slew the Derro, capturing their Duergar leader after a horrific bout against his Psionic Powers, which burst miners' heads apart and forced them to attack their own against their will.
• Hatred of the Coppercoats: Due to her experience in the mines and sacrifice the Coppercoats made that almost killed her and her own miners, Hilda has held a grudge against them for quite some time, even whilst Olfric's daughter Jhoan has taken his position on the Council of Masters. Brunhilda has since then taken a stronger position in providing for the miners, not just payment and provisions but also protection and active surveyance of the areas they work in, to make sure that what happened to her never happens again.

Brunhilda currently holds two main positions in dwarven court: Oremaster, who commands the constant provision of ores for forging, use and, trade, and the Delver's Union Forth Representative, who sees to the payment, protection, and providing of services for all of Thor Bardam's miners and explorers.

Mental Trauma

Brunhilda holds a grudge with the Coppercoats for their attempted sacrifice of the miners and herself during the Derro Attack. She also harbors a deep fear and hatred of Psionic magic or any magic that dominates the minds of others against their will.

Morality & Philosophy

Brunhilda fights against greed and deceit, particularly against those who are keen to sacrifice others in order to save their own skin or better their own position.
