Kieren Kalda

Kieren Kalda was and remains to this day a folk hero of the people of northwest Iona. Despite being the youngest, she was born the heir to the ducal throne of Stronghaven thanks to her brothers- who had both abdicated- and her sisters- who had died in separate tree-climbing accidents. She was raised to be the duchess, traveling around the region, but the plan backfired on her dad when she began to advocate for the rights of the peasantry. Kieren died in 789, shortly after her twenty-fifth birthday. Her father Jochem was forced to hang her in Stronghaven, in the hopes that her six-year-old son, Iril, would be a better heir. Because of her revolt, the Kalda name was struck from the Atrinya lineage, but her beloved brother Iril (whom she'd named her son after) still named his newborn daughter after her a few months later.
