Disaster / Destruction
USCSS Nostromo picks up an alien signal from planet Lv-426. Signal came from a derelict ship, Ground crew investigates. Crew member gets infected, ground crew returns to Nostromo. Infected Crewmate dies, alien runs amok onboard the Nostromo. Nostromo is set to self destruct. Sole survivors are Ellen Ripley, her Jonesy, and the xenomorph. Xenomorph is later jettison from the escape shuttle.
After returning from Thedus, the commercial towing vessel USCSS Nostromo picks up on an alien distress signal originating on the planet Lv-426. MUTHUR awakens the Nostromo’s crew to investigate the beacon. The source of the signal came from a derelict mala’kak ship, its pilot long dead from a chestburster eruption. Executive Officer Kane is soon infected with a xenomorph after exploring the derelict ship’s cargo bay. Captain Dallas and Lambert retrieve Kane as they head back to the Nostromo. Warrant Officer Ripley denies them access to the ship in fear of contamination and violation of ICC quarantine laws. Science Officer Ash negated Officer Ripley’s authority by letting the ground team back in the ship. Ash and Dallas fail to remove the facehugger from Kane’s face as its blood burns through three decks of the ship. Soon the facehugger removed itself from Kane’s face to die on a lamppost before falling on Ripley's shoulder. Hours later Kane awakes from his coma seemingly fine, he has dinner with the crew before he dies from chestburster erupting from his sternum. The chestburster flees, causing the crew to chase after it but only finds the crew’s cat Jonesy instead, while the chestburster raids the supply lockers of remaining food. Maintenance engineer Brett is sent after to find Jonesy but Brett is quickly incompacitated by a full grown xenomorph. Parker fails to save his comrade in time only to report back to the others, commenting on the size of the xenomorph and learning that the creature is using the maintenance tunnels to move around in. Captain Dallas is sent to destroy the xenomorph but is quickly ambushed by the creature. Out of options and frustrated with the crew and Ash’s reluctance to give a status report from MUTHUR, Ripley uses her rank to gain access to MUTHUR only to discover the company wants the xenomorph alive while the crew were expendable. Ash appears in the room, Ripley, upset about the company’s orders, shoves Ash to the wall. Ash shortly afterwards attacks Ripley, intent to silence her from reporting back to her crewmates. Parker and Lambert arrive to stop Ash, the science officer retaliates on Parker before the maintenance engineer bashes Ash in the head with a fire extinguisher dislodging the synthetic’s head from his shoulders. After the revelation that Ash was a robot, the crew rewired his head back to function. They asked him what was the company's order, why didn’t they care for their lives and ultimately how to kill the xenomorph. His answers were satisfactory to the crew so they unplugged him and burned his remains with a maintenance torch. The remaining three crewmen scrambled to find the escape shuttle, Parker and Lambert head to pick up supplies while Ripley went to find Jonesy the cat. The Xenomorph ambushes Lambert, Parker attempts to save her but the xenomorph kills him, the xenomorphs then proceeds to finish off Lambert. Ripley shortly discovers Lambert and Parker’s mangled corpses. Leaving Ripley and her cat alone on the ship with the alien. The xenomorph sneaks up on Ripley, she drops the cat carrier as she bolts away, leaving Jonesy to his fate as she heads off to the engine room to deprive the engines of their coolant. The xenomorph lacked interest in the cat, so it swiped away the cage from its intended target Ripley. Ripley stumbles up a nest made of secreted resin in the bowels of the ship, where she finds Brett and Dallas. Dallas was cocooned and delirious while Kane was being changed into an ovomorph. Ripley quickly burns the nest before returning to the engine room to abort the ship’s self-destruction sequence but she failed to restore the engine’s coolant properly. Ripley finds Jonesy on her way to the escape craft; the cat was unharmed thanks to its carrier. Ripley takes the cat carrier to the escape shuttle Narcissus, where Ripley had it detach from the Nostromo. The Narcissus flies to a safe distance before the Nostromo explodes. As she prepares herself and jonesy for hypersleep, the xenomorph accidentally reveals itself sleeping in the piping. Ripley slips into a spacesuit before firing a stream of liquid nitrogen into the xenomorph causing it pain. The xenomorph sluggishly leaves the pipes to attack Ripley but she quickly opens the airlock door, before firing a harpoon into the xenomorph’s abdomen sending the creature into the deep void of space. The airlock door quickly closes on the harpoon gun’s string as the xenomorph flops around on the craft’s outside. The xenomorph uses its tail to hull itself into the narcissus’s engine before Ripley activates the engines to incinerate the xenomorph. Ripley and Jonesy enter hypersleep shortly after Warrant Officer Ripley sends out a message as her ship drifts in the frontier.
