Mid-Summer Art Festival
The Mid-SumThe Mid-Summer Art Festival happens in the middle of summer in the Upper Gardens, sponsored and run by the students at Micharlie University. This is the festival to attend if you are an art collector, seeking out gifts, enjoy good food, or just like being with people in an energetic environment.
You enter the stream of people that are walking through the festival. Bright booths are on either side of you displaying all sorts of art types. One booth is full of metal sculptures manned by a young dwarf with a bounce in her step. The next is full of paintings, the one after that has tapestries. You can smell the fried street food, the food block must be just up ahead. The street is loud with the happy chatter of festival attendees.
History
This festival has been taking place every summer since the founding of the University. Every year the theme changes but the festival always includes art, performances, street food, and crafting/ tinkering demonstrations.
Execution
One street is blocked off to all non-foot traffic for 5 or 6 blocks. The day of the festival the vendors show up at the crack of dawn to set up their booths, the booths are manned until just before the sun goes down. Student leaders are in charge of any scheduled events.
