Industry & Trade
Much of the student population is funded by their parents or family. This creates an interesting space where the residents do not have to work, they only have to attend university classes. Their free time is spent exploring the creative sides to their personalities. This is a hub for student arts in all forms. Some of the museums even sell their art.
History
This district used to be just another housing district until the university was built. Soon after, much of the young gnomes and dwarves found themselves studying in the Upper Gardens. They took over the space and made it their own, partially because the rest of the city is so sterile, they needed ways to express themselves. The city officials were not initially happy with this take over. After heated arguments and some clashes between the authorities and the residents, the city officials decided to back off. Their current position is that if the district brings in tourism and revenue, they can look the other way. They also feel that the exploration of free expression will help their companies down the line when these students are looking for jobs. Since the corporations thrive on inventions they feel creativity should be cultivated. This district has the potential to be the starting point for change within the gnome/dwarf alliance and culture.
Tourism
This district has a few museums and not many other tourist activities, it is still a tourist destination for the unique culture and the interesting murals.
