Hyrla Applebottom is a bad, bad girl. She has always been a troublemaker, whether stealing pies cooling on a windowsill or plundering ripe crops from fields that are not her own... and these, only when she was a youngling. She grew up on the Applebottom Farm, just a stone's throw from Lilybrook Farm. She has known Finndo since she's been old enough to walk.
What is known only to Hyrla and Finndo is that, despite his sqeaky-clean reputation, Hyrla managed to lure him into becoming an accessory to her crimes. At first, and to his credit, he was an unwilling (and frequently unwitting) participant; however, as time went on his involvement lost some of its reticence. Indeed, if truth be told, with Hyrla's help Finndo was able to lay aside a small fortune, which helped to open doors and introduce him to the finer people in Greywold.
Perhaps unsurprisingly one sin becomes two, and so on. When Hyrla discovered her pregnancy, a hasty marriage was arranged. The surprising part was how eagerly Hyrla took to being a mother. While her skills as a thief and footpad have not diminished, she has largely neglected them in favor of being a wealthy farmer's wife.
