Humans
Humans are by far the most important species in Allucimere...at least nowadays. Long ago, humans used to be one of the weaker and less dominant species, but as time passed, and as humans spread and grew, their natural resistance to magic became one of the leading factors in their rise and in the decline of other species. Whereas a couple thousand years ago, an elf would have laughed at the mere notion that humanity would overpower their species and dominate the world, now the idea is commonplace. After all, who would be the leading species if it weren't humans? Certainly not the mountain-dwellers.
Basic Information
Growth Rate & Stages
Humans are usually considered fully grown after about eighteen to twenty years, although many societies consider the age of sixteen or seventeen to be important milestones in age, and consider individuals of that age to be responsible adults. This varies between cultures and may or may not be completely accurate for certain individuals.
Ecology and Habitats
Humans, unlike other species, are able to survive and thrive in most hospitable environments, ranging from frozen tundras to boiling deserts.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Humans have good sight, better than elves, average hearing, smell, taste and touch. Humans also have weaker magical perception compared to other species and as a result are less aware of when magic is present, and tend to take longer to learn magic than other species.
Civilization and Culture
Average Technological Level
In the First Age, humanity wielded stone tools and it took long for them to discard stone for bronze, which happened around the Second Age. Bronze would remain dominant for most of the Third Age, at least in humanity until the Onyx Nights, when the elves fell and realms such as Caleia used their masterful ironworking technology to carve out vast empires. Many advancements were conducted in the Fourth Age and though they have stalled in the West due to the Fall of Caleia, innovation is alive and well in the East, where there are rumors that engineers have finally managed to marry steam and Hallownite to craft ships that can fly.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
For the most part, the Caleian commontongue is the dominant language in the West, though regional dialects vary and in places outside the former Caleian Empire, this is certainly not the case.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Back during the Silver Age, it was a possible, albeit rare sight to see Half-Elves wandering around, a mix of human and elf, though now a half-elf is the only elf one will ever see. Although possible, other mixes such as a Half-Jothun and Half-_____ are possible, albeit rare.
