Northborn Caleian
Men of the Kingdoms
The Northborn are the peoples from the Kingdoms of Man. From the Magistrates, to the fallen kingdom of Essaryn, to the edge of Orrun, the Northborn call those lands their home. Out of the many great cities, there are hundreds of smaller villages scattered all around their lands. These villages could contain no more than a couple thousand Northborn at most, but are still self-sufficient and loyal to the kingdom they live under. Northborn are very similar to a mix of real-life Medieval Germanic and English culture. The Northborn are more of an encompassing ethnicity rather than a united culture, as there are many kindred cultures living in the lands of the Northborn, most prominently the Graylanders and many more.

Culture
Major language groups and dialects
The Northborn speak mainly in the Commontongue, but sometimes, certain groups may know a long-forgotten dialect, or even language which they may speak amongst themselves. Occasionally, some well-versed scholars may be able to understand and even speak some other tongues from far-away lands.
Culture and cultural heritage
Even though the Northborn are anything but a unified culture, they all share certain cultural aspects. These include the practice of burying the dead in mounds, celebrating the harvest with a great festival known as
">Harvestfest, being, sadly, skeptical and untrusting in people of Elven descent and favoring life in and around larger cities.Harvestfest

Harvestfest is the festival of social connections and harvests.
Common Dress code
Although it varies from region to region, the Northborn generally dress in common clothes made of wool, leather and other simple materials. While the richer folk may prefer to dress in fancier attire, the common peasants are content living just like they do.
Art & Architecture
The Northborn style of architecture most commonly resembles a mix between Medieval English and Germanic architecture. This architecture sees some variation among different peoples of the Kingdoms of Man, but will usually be pretty similar. Art is focused on people and their interactions with landscapes, and will often feature a traveler coming across a landmark, natural or man-made.
Funerary and Memorial customs
When a person dies, it's customary to take their bodies and bury them in ancient nearby barrows dug out of hills, and leave the bodies with their favorite items from their life. Usually, the item left is connected to their profession. A blacksmith, for example, might be buried with a hammer. Wealthier folk will have a private family barrow close to their estate whereas commoners will usually be buried in public barrows.
I used https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com for inspiration, and use of many Northborn names. Sadly, I'm not an expert at languages, and for now, the names will stick. The website is awesome though, and it's full of generators to spit out any sort of names--from real names to fantasy names.
