Lake of Tears
A lake of mist and tears
The Lake of Tears is a great body of water in the Phaery Realm, surrounded by the forests of Elysium. The Lake of Tears is connected to the rest of the Phaery Realm by the Road of Hame, but unlike the rest of the Phaery Realm, it has a very distinct set of flora and fauna. Many different fish swim in the Lake, and some more monstrous water animals roam the Lake's depths too...not that anyone has dared swim down there. The Lake of Tears is notorious for being full of shades wandering its shores. They say the entire lake was made from the tears of a shamed goddess. The Lake is always surrounded by a thick mist emanating from the water itself, and sometimes, islands appear and disappear at will deeper into the lake.
Geography
The Lake is wide and vast, and its edges are like wide beaches merging with the ancient and mysterious forests of Elysium. The Lake of Tears is close to the Alguay Peaks, and has a river running from the Alguay Peaks down to the lake itself, but oddly enough, sometimes the river's water flows upwards, and other times it flows normally. Some say it depends on the time of day.
Fauna & Flora
While some odd plants may grow close to the shore, and some odd fish may swim close to the surface, most of the stranger and more bizarre things grow and live deeper beneath the Lake's calm but mysterious waters. Sometimes, fish from the Lake are found far away in seemengly unconnected rivers running through the forest. In Dryadalia, this should not come as a surprise.
