The Father of Aldusa Vaerima, Draven is the head of House Vaerima and the closest ally of Strahd von Zarovich. He is a master of charm magics and swordplay, choosing to use the members of his house as spies and to manipulate people into his schemes. He is utterly ruthless and will not hesitate to dispose of even his own children if it serves to benefit him.
Draven was the first of the Vampire Lords of Barovia to be recruited by Strahd after Barovia was ripped from the Material Plane. Draven proved himself a master manipulator and removed those who would threaten Strahd's power prior to the Purge War and during the conflict, he kept any and all enemies of Barovia from finding ways into the Vampiric Plane.
Of Draven's ten children, only the youngest, Aldusa, has survived as the rest were deemed failures by the Lord of the House. Aldusa is well aware of her siblings disposal and seeks to avoid the same fate at all costs, no matter what she must do.
