Janriel Vershi Kessler (a.k.a. Janni)
Janni is a former bandit turned Bodyguard when she was paid by Mareena Lamplier to escort her to the Roost in search of her brother.
She was a normal village girl under her village was attacked and destroyed by a tribe of ogres. She escaped and fell in with a bandit clan who eventually ended up joining the rogue monk Trajan Imskar to kill the Ancient Green Dragon Liezzen. She was the last one left alive and was allowed to run free after a momentary attempt on her life.

Personal history
Since the fall of the Roost, Janni has become more and more involved with Mareena. At first simply a bodyguard but then much closer during their time together. Following the fall of the Roost she helped to keep Mareena from falling into complete despair after the loss of her Brother. She kept the Refugees of the Roost in order as best she could and protected them from what threats they encountered as she was one of the few able bodied fighters left. After suffering near fatal wounds, she was saved at the last moment by Mareena as the fledgling monk dispatched her opponent and healed her with her new knowledge of Ki.
Since then the two have become near inseperable, with Janni broadening her own view under the teachings of the Dragonborn monk Olgraf Elderscale. She has become connected to Draconic magics and can summon her own Drake to her side. She serves as a member of the Council of Dragon's Claim Keep and is a chief protector. When not attending to her official duties she can be found in the Starlight Grove teaching others of Ranger Magic or within the Obsidian Atheneum with Mareena and Myara.
