Lolth, Goddess of the Dark

Nightstalker Larenia Cerene Larethian (a.k.a. Lolth)

Formerly the Queen of Spiders, following an incident involving the Goddess Klexia, Lolth rejected her title as the Spider Queen and seperated her divinity. Lolth now presides over the domain of Darkness, aiding Klexia Andronas in her duties and acting as Patron of the Drow who have escaped her other half's clutches.

Personal history

Following the Council of the Gods to unite Almura and Golarion, Lolth's mind was broken and the Spider Queen developed an intense fear of her own Domain of Divinity. In her maddened state she ripped her own essence in two, leaving the madness and Fury in one body and the Fear and Cunning in another. The Goddess of Darkness is the latter of the two, appearing as a young Drow woman who retains a deathly fear of spiders and other vermin. The Young Goddess has none of her former magical prowess and instead follows her father's path, exceling with both the blade and bow.
Lolth and her other half have battled incessantly since they were formed from the halves of their former self, but often times Lolth can be found guiding her followers to aid the followers of Sidela or Klexia. She is known to be close friends with Sidela despite their former rivalry and she often aids Klexia in matters the Goddess of Knowledge cannot intervene in herself. While Lolth cannot match the power of Ilaxis or most other gods, she is exceptionally cunning and supernaturaly stealthy.
Lolth bypasses the rules of the Gods direct intervention using her skill to get by unoticed. Only the Demigods of Flower Fruit Mountain can truly find her when she hides herself and they often choose to remain uninvolved.
Besides her aid of her fellow Drow Goddesses, Lolth is the patron of Drow who have escaped the Underdark and her other half, indeed she has become a popular Goddess for all the Elves of Almura. While those who are raised under the beliefs of Old Golarion's elves often find her distasteful, she draws in followers who have been rejected by Elvish Tradition.
