Her eyes have not healed in the 178 years since she inflicted blindness upon herself.

Personal history
Narien was allowed her freedom as a hatchling, to a limited degree. She was part of a large brood and thus was less prone to oversight. During her time she found a befriended a gnome child. She was nearly able to escape before her mother discovered her friend. Using a spell of Mental Domination, Runiger forced Narien to kill her friend and the family they had met. When she was released from the spell, Narien cursed her mother to no end as she clawed at her own eyes to erase the horrible acts she had been forced to commit.
Newly Blind, Narien was branded a traitor and placed with the others of her kind. She is often apart from her siblings, left to drown in the misery of her memories and the sights she had been forced to see.
After her arrival at Dragon's claim Keep, Narien has spent nearly all of her time at the Obsidian Atheneum. She has been learning meditation and has been asking Mareena if there may be a way to restore her sight. She enjoys the peaceful quiet of the Monastery and generally keeps to herself, though she does on occassion make her way into the Keep Proper or to the Moon Haven to interact with Numiner.
