Personal history

Anne Jane was born an orphan as her mother died during pregnancy and her father had been lost at sea only months before her birth. A physician was present at her birth and Anne was taken to the Grey Rose Orphanage in the Farmside District in Bleakburn. She was raised there until she was 15 years old. Anne didn't have much after living at the orphanage, but would find work at Proper Publishing as an assistant to the woman later known as Granny Proper. Her job made her able to buy a small house in the Defense District and she earned enough to live a better life than most in the area. Only two years after starting her work at the publishing company, Anne was introduced to a man named John William, he was a mysterious man as he claimed to have no last name and had recently moved to Bleakburn and had no place to live. Anne was a gentle person and allowed him to move into her home, even though it was quite small. While they lived together, Anne and John quickly fell in love and would get a priest to marry them. Anne got pregnant during their first year together, but when John heard the news he disappeared and was not heard from after.   Anne went on to give birth to twins, one boy and a girl, she named them Charles William and Emilia Jane. Anne hoped for John's return, but never saw him again. She did learn that he was not the nobody he claimed to be, but rather the heir of the Chalhen family. When she found out, she changed her named to Chalhen and her children in the hopes that he would return. They had wed which gave her the right to do so, but even after changing their names, nothing changed. Except for how people looked at her, most assumed that she had taken the name of a lord in the hopes of claiming money or attention. Few believed they had ever been together, and fewer believed they ever married. This didn't make life much harder than it already was for Anne, but the comments and stares she got made her all the more sadder. She continued to work for Granny, and when her children were old enough, they were given jobs at her factory as well. She did everything to protect her children and worked long hours to earn enough for her kids. What they had was not much, but it was good enough for them. When Liam was around 11 he began showing weird signs of some power. His skin would sometimes light up and he was in constant pain. Anne never knew her father, but had been told many things about him. She had learnt that their family was cursed and that some of her ancestors like her father had certain powers that could easily hurt others and themselves. Her father had used it sometimes to defend himself and others, but often ended up badly hurt from the process. Anne didn't want her son to hurt himself or someone else, but also didn't want him to be in pain from not releasing the energy. She helped him control his curse and only to release the burning energy in locations void of life. It took him a long time to be able to suppress his powers, but eventually it stopped building up and Liam was all the better for it. Most seemed to go well for the family until A4 613 when masked assailants broke into her house for unknown reasons and held her captive until her children returned home. They were the last thing she saw before having her throat slit.
