Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Mathias is a tall man with an athletic and somewhat muscular body. He had broad shoulders and had a good physique. While in his cambion form, Mathias was a bit more slender, but had more defined muscles. He was also about an inch shorter.
Facial Features
Mathias had a strong face which had round cheeks. As a cambion, his face was slimmer and sharper, but much like his human form.
Identifying Characteristics
Mathias had short gold horns in his cambion form, which easily marks him as a descendant of Belial.
Special abilities
Mathias was a skilled spellcaster and a natural sorcerer as a cambion. He had achieved 6th circle spells during his stay in the hells, but as he lived a normal life on the prime material plane, he began to dwindle in his magic.

Personal history
Mathias was born in Phlegethos, the fourth layer of the Nine Hells and originally named Baelun. He was born to a slave human woman who had got pregnant with one of Belial's commanders, she died giving birth to him as all mortals who carry cambions do. Mathias' childhood was as good as any cambion could expect in the hells, he survived into adulthood. Life in the hells made Mathias strong and adaptable, he learnt how to survive, but also how to thrive within the bureaucratic order of the hells. He spent many decades under the guidance Venztrilla, a paeliryon who was a judge at the diabolical court which has its court in Abriymoch in Phlegethos. She wasn't a kind person, though Mathias was quick to learn and rarely had to suffer punishment twice for the same mistake. After serving as an apprentice and the diabolical court, he would go on to work as a contract administrator and contract drafter. He would become an excellent legal devil in the court, to such a degree that in A4 388, he was given a position of Belial's council because of his knowledge of contracts and the intrigue behind them. This was one of the best positions a cambion such as Mathias could ever ask for, and for life in hell, his was becoming one worth living.
Mathias served on the council of Belial for almost a century before Belial disappeared after his attempt to overthrow Asmodeus alongside other powerful devils throughout the hells. He never got punished by Asmodeus, but his council was left in shambles as many of the previous members had been executed on his orders. Belial's daughter Fierna, would go on to take over the rulership of Phlegethos, something which would become detrimental to Mathias' pride and efforts. Her rule was sloppy and filled with little politics and development. She was more of a pleasure seeker than a true ruler like Belial had been. She spent her days looking for nothing but distractions and pleasures. She would indulge in her hedonistic indulgences at all times and sought the same from her council members, turning most of Mathias' previous colleagues into shadows of their former selves. Most fell to her hedonism or seduction, an attempt Mathias had so often rejected that Fierna spent her days ignoring his "boring" existence. While Fierna spent decades ignoring Mathias, he went back through decades if not centuries of old paperwork and intrigue at court to find leverage or distractions from the corruption at court. He didn't think he would actually find much use, but he began to uncover a long scheme at court, one which involved the cooperation of demons. He would find out that Belial had been in an arrangement with demons from Azzagrat. He would use them to take out his rivals in exchange for information and the assassination of high ranking commanders of the blood war. He had even uncovered a previous councilor by the name Azentur who had been investigating this for a long time before Mathias was ever put on Belial's council. It was the previous lord of intrigue who had discovered this plot and he had made a though string which had evidence of this cooperation. Mathias had gotten his hands on this though and saw the memory of Belial talking with a mysterious figure dressed in white. He didn't know the demon's identity but he knew he hailed from Azzagrat. Mathias continued his investigation and would find out that this did not stop when Belial disappeared, Fierna had inherited the role Belial had with the demons and continued his plot. Because of the knowledge Mathias had gained, he grew even more paranoid of anyone learning about his involvement in uncovering the truth, and within a decade of uncovering it, he fled to the prime plane because of the eyes in the shadows which followed him everywhere.
It was in Evlora he would go on to make the alias of Mathias Holmer, and he would play the part of a carpenter while plotting what to do next. His life as a mortal was boring to him as he missed the intricate life in the hellish courts, but he had to keep quiet and think of what to do next. He spent years almost in isolation in the city, but his lack of socializing had made him isolated, and it might be therefore he indulged the human Roland Kraus in conversations while at a tavern he frequently visited. Without knowing it himself, Mathias and Roland had become friends of sort. He liked him company and was distracted while he was with him. He made him work more on his human disguise and backstory to fit better in and while doing so grew very fond of him. Roland respect his need for secrecy and didn't dig when Mathias clearly did not want to share. He also introduced him to a woman by the name Vera Mayner, who would quickly steal the devil's heart. She was very kind to him and he quickly grew obsessed with her. It was different from what Mathias had ever experienced in the hells, there was no love or romance to be found there, only lust, but with Vera, he felt the need to know her and to be around her. She helped him not only adapt well to a mortal's life, but to live as Mathias Holmer, not as Baelun. The two would eventually get together, and Mathias told her what he was. Vera, to his surprise, didn't scream or get angry, she instead told him that it made sense, and she was happy he told her. She helped him get over his past life and live a happy life in Evlora with her. The two would marry and have children together. They were born tieflings, but Mathias explained to everyone who asked that he had lineage which could be traced back to Inthrania, the tiefling kingdom of old. A lie all bought. Mathias would also get rid of the evidence he had with him, selling it to a person known as the Shadow Broker, through his shadow messengers. He would in return for the evidence be warned if his presence was ever endangered by the hells.
