Stonehill
Demographics
Stonehill is populated by many different races and there seems not to be a big leading race. The city is generally of moderate living as coin is not so important within the small village and everyone works together to survive and thrive.
Government
The village is governed by a mayor chosen by the inhabitants of the village. The village seems not to be under imperial control, but rather a pure settlement of Revendell. They are protected by reven guards and pay their tax to the kingdom of Revendell.
Defences
The city has little when it comes to defense as there are no walls or towers protecting the village. There are about 40 guards stationed at Stonehill guarding the village and people and they have a small barrack and armory. There is also one ballista in the village.
Industry & Trade
The village has some ore deposits close to the surface around the village which provides materials. Hunting is also very favorable in the Stonefields as there are many creatures and animals for hunting.
History
The village was founded in A4 328 by Revendell and the at the time king Terrowin II and great grandfather of the current king Terrowin III. Many people had issues with the village being made because of its deadly location, but Terrowin II was sure they could handle the harsh environment of the Stonefields. Nevertheless, the village was made and for around 50 years the village managed to grow and become a stable village with a few industries. In A4 391 the village underwent a major siege by orcs, but with the extra help of the empire, the village managed to stay afloat. The discussion about abandoning Stonehill again came up but the village continued to stay.
The biggest event in Stonehill’s existence would come in A4 449 when Condrenth The Stone Guard an adult blue dragon came to the city and killed over half the reven guards stationed. The dragon didn’t kill any commoners as it demanded that the city would pay its tribute every year. The city agreed to the terms and when word of this go to Revendell they sent more guards to protect the village but agreed to pay tribute to the dragon as its requests were agreeable. Henceforth ¾ of the cities income would be saved to the dragon. Many people left Stonehill but some stayed to be with family or stay because of the adventure of living in Stonehill. Some bounty hunters and adventurers have tried to kill Condrenth but none has come close, and every time anyone tries to kill it, it comes back to Stonehill and demands more coin, valuables and meat. The dragon was killed by adventurers in the year A4 648.
Architecture
The village is almost entirely made out of stone as there are no forests close by. To make the village more lively it is painted and decorated to make it more special.
Geography
Stonehill is located in the stonefields. The area around Stonehill is quite flat, but it is surrounded by hills and canyons if you walk far enough.
Natural Resources
The mineral-rich deposits around Stonehill grant various metals and minerals. The earth where it is not dirt is made of rich clay and the valleys in the stonefields provide good hunting places for boars, stone cluckers and other animals and creatures.
