Alba Caro

Alba Caro is a 50 year old gift store owner living in Malagra. Though her wares may not always be of the best quality, her joviality and sheer enthusiasm for life has earned her a reputation as one of the best shopkeepers in the city. She’s always willing to barter with both customers and sellers, as long as it’s a fair deal for everyone involved.

Early Life

Alba was born in Malagra to a middle class family as the eldest of three daughters. Her father worked as a priest who helped organize festivals, while her mother was a potter who made traditional Malagran pieces inspired by Aimar. Ever since she was little, Alba was inspired by her mother’s craft and would often help out in the workshop. At a young age, she decided she wanted to run a store just like her mom. However, she also had an undying curiosity for the world outside her place of birth.

Early Career

Alba worked at her mom’s pottery shop until she was 24. At this age, Alba decided to reconcile her desire to work as a merchant with her desire to see the rest of the world by becoming a traveling merchant. She started off by selling some of her mom’s pottery to nearby towns, and would pick up new goods at every place she visited. She started off by exclusively selling goods in Malagra, but eventually traveled to Domína and Ahumm to peddle her wares. She made several buisness connections along the way, especially with Saeno travelers.   When she was 30, she was accosted by a gang in Ahumm while on the road. The encounter permanently damaged her right leg. She decided to take a break and returned to her family in Malagra, only to find that in her absence her mother had grown sick and ill. She spent the next few years staying at home helping her family and reconnecting with the community.

Late Career

After her mother’s death, Alba realized that between her injury and her love of her hometown that she wanted to settle back down and run her mom’s old pottery shop. However, she also missed selling exotic goods she picked up from other countries. She got in contact with both her international friends that she made while traveling as well as some of her connections within the community to transform her shop from not only a traditional Malagran pottery gift shop, but also to include an imported goods section. These new goods varied drastically in quality depending on the seller and where they were imported from. This move was initially met with some scorn from her sisters who believed that selling goods unrelated to Aimar was disrespectful to their faith, but she eventually won them over by saying that if Aimar loves the other gods, then they should also be more open to art and ideas from other places.   She still runs this shop in the center of Malagra’s commercial district.
