Anatomy
Altairian Wind spirits resemble limbless Oriental dragons. They have slender black bodies and glowing lightning-bolt shaped markings on their foreheads and down their backs, and their eyes and ears glow similarly.
Biological Traits
There are two kinds of Altairian Wind spirits; North Wind spirits and South Wind spirits. North Wind spirits have goat horns, two sets of whiskers, and arctic blue eyes, markings, and ears. South Wind spirits have stag antlers, one set of whiskers, and fiery red markings, eyes, and ears.
Ecology and Habitats
Altairian Wind spirits live in the skies of Altairus, though they are not picky about the conditions. In general, North Wind spirits will show up when the weather is cold while South Wind spirits appear when the weather is warm.
Behaviour
Since Altairian Wind spirits can be unpredictable, it is best to keep one's distance. These creatures have no natural predators, so they tend not to be overly skittish, but that doesn't mean that they won't attack if they feel threatened. Furthermore, one should never attempt to summon a North Wind spirit and a South Wind spirit at the same time without casting a subduing spell on them. Being diametrically opposed forces, North and South Wind spirits will attack each other on sight, creating dangerous, unpredictable weather.

Altairian Wind spirits are classified as magical beings, meaning that they collapse into Air particles when they die. While they are clearly wild animals, they show a substantial capacity for reason. They can clearly tell when they are being summoned or banished, and will sometimes go to great lengths to prevent those things from happening.

It has been speculated that Altairian Wind spirits navigate the skies they fly through primarily through scent, much like Earth snakes. However, it is most likely that they use their senses of sight, hearing, and smell in tandem.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
