Wendigo Ward Creation
In the world of Altairus, certain objects can be magically blessed to serve as wards against wendigoes and Null magic. The more energy that is put into the spell, the more powerful the ward will be, though even weak wards are effective against low-powered wendigoes.
Effect
Once a wendigo ward is active, it will constantly emit Undifferentiated Anima. This repels wendigoes and protects the area from Null magic and other negative energies. How powerful this effect is depends on how much energy was poured into the ward.
Side/Secondary Effects
While in the presence of said ward, Altairians will experience a decrease in anxiety and a boost in mood. There is even evidence that being in the presence of a wendigo ward speeds up recovery from illnesses and injuries.
Manifestation
Once charged, the ward will emit a white or rainbow-hued aura, reflective of the Undifferentiated Anima that was put into it.
Source
This spell uses Undifferentiated Anima, which is comprised of all Anima elements and is powered by the unity thereof. It is incredibly repulsive and harmful to wendigoes, which is why it is used to ward them off.
The ward can be made from any physical object that exists. It tends to have more power if the object has sentimental value or is part of a particularly powerful sapient being. Ygdrassil's heartwood, for example, serves as a wendigo ward.
To create a ward, focus your attention on the object you have selected to be the ward. Hold it in your hands if it is small enough. Then recite this incantation:
I dedicate this [object] as a guardian against evil!
Let no fell being disturb this place,
Nor foul magic take your charges!
You shall serve us well.
After the incantation is spoken, channel your energy into the ward, focusing on pleasant feelings, especially those of unity. These are the emotions that stimulate the channeling of Undifferentiated Anima. Once you are finished, the ward will be ready to use. Place it somewhere that needs protection from wendigoes and Null magic.
A sufficiently powerful wendigo may be able to overpower a ward and remove its blessing, even going so far as to re-consecrate it to emit Null magic. This is especially true for weak wards, though even a powerful ward can be overpowered and destroyed if the wendigo has absorbed enough Anima.
