Calin is a personal slave of Charadia´stra Hun'iryn and belongs to the household of House Hun'iryn.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

It would be difficult for surfaceborns to differentiate him from an ordinary drow, but his skintone is the dead giveaway for the residents of The Underdark: the tone of his dark skin is warmer, leaning towards brown instead of cold black or blue of the full-blooded drows. It is clear that at some point in his bloodline there has been something else -perhaps a wood elf, tiefling or a human- mixed in.

Personal history

Calin was born in the household of House Kilval'tar and brought up to become a personal slave. He was taught the correct etiquette, manners, and other important skills on how to be a companion to a noble lady. There was one problem, though; he had inherited magical abilities and they showed on his skin as topaz-colored scales. Being a man with magical talents -especially of unpredictable sorcerous powers- made his situation difficult. Women loved a man who was not useless, but could protect himself and his mistress, but on the other hand a man with magical talents could be seen as a threat, especially if the man in question was a slave or servant. 

Calin caught the eye of Charadia´stra Hun'iryn, who wasn't afraid of his powers and bought him. For several years Calin has been the one to take care of his mistress' every need.

Employment

Calin was taught to become a personal slave of some high-ranking lady. He knows how to read and write elvish and draconic. He can discuss various topics from politics to arcane matters and poetry, depending on the interests of his mistress. During his stay in the family Hun'iryn household, his mistress wished him to take on more arcane studies and thus he has put great effort on practicing his magical skills.

Contacts & Relations

Calin is deeply loyal to his mistress Charadia'stra and thankful for the change to live in a good household under such a good mistress. He is looked down by other (drow) servants due for him being a slave and a mutt, to top it of.
